Jennifer Beals at the The Daily Beast/Newsweek Hero Summit

As previously reported, Jennifer is attending the first ever Hero Summit in Washington DC, 14-15 November.
The goal of the summit is to bring together military heroes and exceptional civilians for meaningful dialogues and information-sharing.
Jennifer said that she was there to do “research” for a TV show in development about the military (Laughs Unlimited).

Jennifer is expected to attend next week’s inaugural ”The Hero Summit: An Exploration of Character and Courage”
The summit, organised by Newsweek and The Daily Beast, is a two-day gathering taking place at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., Nov. 14–15.

Jennifer Beals receives Ally for Equality Award

Jennifer picked up the Human Rights Campaign’s Ally for Equality Award on Saturday 20th at the gala held at the Fairmont Hotel in Chicago.
The award is presented to a non-LGBT figure who demonstrates outstanding support for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

Jennifer Beals attended the WIGS TCA panel

Jennifer attended alongside director Rodrigo Garcia and actress Sarah Jones the YouTube Channels’ AwesomenessTV and WIGS TCA Panel at the Beverly Hilton on July 25th to promote Youtube’s channel WIGS.

Asked if day will come that appearing on a YouTube series is as desirable as working in TV, she said: “I think it’s so fascinating what’s happening — that we have this other platform for material that is incredibly intimate and it feels like you don’t have to wait for somebody’s permission to be creative,” Beals said. “You don’t have to wait for that magic, huge number in order to go tell a story. Jennifer Beals at the YouTube 2012 Upfronts Presentation

Jennifer attended the YouTube 2012 Upfronts Presentation  at the Beacon Theatre in New York last night to promote WIGS, the new web series of short films and documentaries  exploring female characters that was announced yesterday

Filmakers of the series Jon Avnet and Rodrigo Garcia together with actressess Sarah Jones, Julia Stiles, Virginia Madsen,  Caitlin Gerard  and Youtube content boss Robert Kyncl joined Jennifer at the presentation.
