Jennifer Beals takes the lead in new tv series ‘Taken’

Jennifer has landed the female lead role in NBC’s “Taken” a prequel tv series based on the film Taken. Starring alongside Jennifer is British actor Clive Stranden (Vikings) who plays Bryan Mills.
Jennifer plays Christina Hart, the Special Deputy Director of National Intelligence, who has taken Stranden’s Bryan Mills under her wing. Cultured and powerful with a wealth of field experience, her current government position has her overseeing an elite team of operatives who take care of America’s national security emergencies.
In the original Taken, Liam Neeson starred as Bryan Mills, a retired CIA agent who springs into action when his daughter is kidnapped during a trip to Paris. After contacting one of the thugs who took his daughter, Mills delivered an iconic speech to one of his daughter’s kidnappers, revealing the “very particular set of skills” he acquired over a long career, which makes him “a nightmare for people like you.” We see these skills in action throughout the rest of the movie, and its subsequent sequels, but this Taken series will show how a younger Mills acquired these skills, as he’s recruited to become a black ops agent in the elite Emergency Covert Action Team.

Directed by Alex Graves (Proof), the “Taken” pilot is written and produced by Alex Cary.
Taken is being filmed in Toronto
