The documentary started out last year as a kickstarter project to coincide with Fuller’s 100th anniversary and it’s finally due to be released this summer. The 2013 edition of the Venice film festival ( 28 August-7 September ) has on its line up A Fuller Life on the official selection Venice Classics and it’s scheduled to premiere on September 1st at the festival in the Sala Perla.

A Fuller Life was filmed in the late director’s historic office where the cast channels Fuller amid his beloved Royal typewriter, massive collection of books, screenplays, treatments, war memorabilia and the ever-present cigar. Each segment of the documentary is layered with clips from his films, home movies and photos. More about the documentary can be found on its website
